Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital Endoscopy service maintains JAG accreditation success

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital are delighted to be awarded a prestigious JAG accreditation, maintaining their status as the only independent hospital in Cambridge to be recognised by the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) and receive JAG accreditation. An accreditation from JAG provides assurance for patients that they will receive excellent and consistent care while undergoing an endoscopy examination at the hospital.

JAG measures endoscopy services against national benchmarks to demonstrate best practise in patient care and reduce variation. The assessors scrutinise four areas of the service including: clinical quality, patient experience, workforce and training.

Endoscopy is a procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the stomach, intestines, oesophagus and rectum, including detecting the early signs of bowel cancer. It is a vital diagnostic tool which allows a long thin tube, with a camera inside, to pass through your body giving a clear picture of what’s going on inside.

At Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital the day case endoscopy and short stay suite comprises of 19 enclosed bays providing easy access for patients to some of the most advanced, surgical techniques and equipment in the region.
