MB BS MRCP MRCGP DFFP FRCP Dip Cardiology
I have been a general practitioner for over 25 years. After qualifying from St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School in 1987 I did hospital based training in General Medicine and Dermatology in London, Somerset & Birmingham. I then completed GP training in Cardiff and have worked has a partner in NHS General Practice since 1994 . Through these hospital posts and extensive general practice work I have gained a wealth of experience in the diagnosis and management of the widespread range of conditions that present to general practice.
I have membership and fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and I have maintained a special interest in seeing patients with skin disease, high blood pressure, Medicine of Old Age, cardiovascular disease risk management and Cardiology. I attained a distinction in the Diploma of Cardiology from Bradford University in 2018 and have worked part time in a community based heart failure assessment clinic alongside my work in general practice.
In addition to seeing and assessing the broad spectrum of medical problems that arise in our lives, I will via Spire Hospital Cardiff be able to arrange the following prompt private investigations and treatments: private prescriptions, blood tests, ECGs, X-rays, scans and referral to specialists.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Damian Pathy at Spire include:
