"The facilities at Spire Cardiff Hospital are excellent. The environment and commitment of the staff ensure the patients get the best possible care."
I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Cardiff for 27 years, and am experienced in dealing with all areas of Gastroenterology and Hepatobiliary disorders.
My areas of specific interest include oesophageal disorders (swallowing problems and reflux), functional bowel disease (irritable bowel disease) and inflammatory bowel disease. However, I am a general gastroenterologist and have experience in all areas of luminal gastroenterology and hepatology.
To date I have performed over 6,000 colonoscopies and 10,000 endoscopies. My key performance indicators are comparable to the standards set by the British Society of Gastroenterology and my adverse events and complications are lower than the national averages.
I have been a member of various committees of the British Society of Gastroenterology and the Royal College of Physicians. I have over 70 publications in the field of Gastroenterology, in Gut, Gastroenterology, The NEJM and Nature Clinical Practice.
