I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist for 22 years. I have trained in all aspects of gastroenterology with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease and luminal gastroenterology.

To date I have performed over 10,000 diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, gastroscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy in both my NHS and private practice.

I have been a Consultant at the Royal Gwent hospital in 1994. I was visiting fellow at the University of Rotterdam in 1990 where further research and endoscopy training was undertaken and appointed senior registrar in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1992.

I have published papers on inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
