I have been a Consultant in General and Respiratory Medicine based at University Hospital Llandough since 2009. I was appointed a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Cardiff University in 2022.
I am currently the National Clinical Lead for COPD in Wales and have helped to develop the endobronchial valve service in Wales. I am also the Clinical Lead for Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing and the COPD team in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
I qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine with Honours in 2000 and was also awarded a First Class Honours degree in Medical Biochemistry in 1997. I completed my higher training in Respiratory Medicine on the All Wales Rotation and in 2009 was awarded an MD for my research into the cardiovascular effects of COPD. In 2008, I took a three month sabbatical at Harbor UCLA (Los Angeles) to study Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing, a service which I have since developed in South Wales.
