I am a Consultant ENT Surgeon based at the University Hospital of Wales. I qualified in 2009 with Distinctions in Basic Sciences and Clinical Practice from Imperial College London. I have undertaken all my surgical training in the United Kingdom and was a specialist registrar on the All Wales ENT training programme.
I have a wide range of clinical expertise and am fully proficient in all aspects of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery.
I have an interest in snoring, sleep apnoea, swallowing and voice disorders, and have delivered several international Keynote Lectures on these topics at the ENT World Congress (Paris, 2017). Â
I have acquired multiple prominent awards including The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Surgeon in Training Medal in 2011 and The International ENT Masterclass Gold Medal in 2017. I was awarded the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England Surgical Research Fellowship in 2016 for pioneering research on immune responses to head and neck cancer.

I am extremely passionate about high-quality research with the fundamental belief that excellence in research directly leads to better care and outcomes for patients. I remain very active in pursuing research including basic science and clinical research with 34 peer-reviewed publications to date and a strong international ENT research portfolio. I am the Principal Investigator for multiple clinical studies including the National Airway Intervention Registry and the OptiNose study, an international multi-centre randomised controlled trial assessing the efficacy of a novel nasal spray system in chronic rhinosinusitis.
I am Section Editor for Current Otorhinolaryngology Reports. In addition, I am a reviewer for multiple journals including Clinical Otolaryngology and Journal of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
