Virtual consultations:
As a hip and knee surgeon based in Merthyr and Aberdare as part of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, with a private practice in Spire Cardiff Hospital, my main clinical interests are the management of hip and knee pain, hip and knee replacement (including revision surgery) and arthroscopic knee surgery.
I have been working as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB since 2012 and cover a wide geographical area of South Wales with my private practice in Spire Cardiff Hospital.
My private practice is based around the management of adult hip pain and supporting my patients through their journey to recovery; whether that is through physiotherapy, injections into the joint or replacement surgery.
Having completed my basic and higher surgical training in Wales, I was awarded the prestigious Cavendish Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship in 2010 for one year based at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. It was during this time that I developed my interest in the management of the infected arthroplasty. I then returned to Wales for a further six months to complete my fellowship training as the Cardiff Hip Fellow, based in Llandough University Hospital.
I understand the importance of being very active in hospital life, and I am currently the medical director for planned care across Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB.
