Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I offer a full range of gynaecological services at Spire, but I will happily refer on patients if appropriate. My specialties include infertility, laparoscopic surgery, menopause, menstrual disorders, prolapse and urogynaecology.
I have been a consultant for 23 years, and was one of the last to train as a senior registrar. This reflects in the wide experience I have. I have performed ultrasound scanning from early on in my career and have scanned infertility patients, early pregnancy scans, general gynaecology scans amniocentesis and fetal sex determining scans, as well as obstetric scanning.
I worked in the Cardiff Assisted reproduction unit for two years so have a lot of infertility experience, and as a registrar/senior registrar. I worked for a urogynaecologist and a consultant with an interest in pelvic floor surgery which gave me a great deal of experience. I also spent 15 months working for a gynaecological oncologist which gave me a lot of experience in oncology which is also very useful in cases of severe endometriosis or PID.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Steven Vine at Spire include:
Gynaecology
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Cardiff Hospital.
Consultant Obstetrician / Gynaecologist, Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil
Honorary Lecturer, University of Wales College of Medicine
Outside medicine I am a keen angler (coarse, fly, sea) and try to travel abroad to fish each year. I enjoy television, films and computing. I also play badminton (not very regularly at present) and I am interested in target shooting.
