I have been a consultant gastrointestinal surgeon for 15 years and I am an expert in biliary (gallbladder), liver and pancreas surgical problems.
I have extensive experience in endoscopic (magic eye) and laparoscopic (keyhole) management of all aspects of general surgical problems. This includes keyhole surgery for all types of abdominal wall hernia, gallbladder surgery and anti-reflux surgery, as well as extensive experience in performing more advanced complex laparoscopic procedures for pancreas, liver, spleen and bowel.
I specialise in laparoscopic cholecystectomy and laparoscopic cholecystectomy with operative cholangiogram. Laparoscopic and open repair of all abdominal wall hernias including inguinal hernia repair, incisional hernia repair, umbilical hernia repair, epigastric hernia repair, and parastomal hernia.
Anti-reflux surgery including laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication, laparoscopic hiatus hernia repair and achalasia surgery such as laparoscopic Heller cardiomyotomy.
I performed over a 1,000 complex pancreatic surgery and laparoscopic cholecystectomies (gallbladder removal). I continue to receive referral from across mid and south Wales to treat complex biliary and gallbladder disease. I routinely perform all types of abdominal wall hernia repair.
I am the lead for pancreas cancer in Wales and established the centre of excellence for pancreas cancer for Wales.
