I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist interest in cataract surgery, glaucoma and corneal disorders. I undertook my medical training at Manchester University and was appointed as a Consultant at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2011, I was clinical lead for three years. In 2016 I was appointed to my current position, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Lead at Macclesfield District General Hospital. As glaucoma lead, I am responsible for the service and am involved in training medical students and junior surgeons.
In addition to general ophthalmology, I perform all types of glaucoma surgery, including non-penetrating and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and laser treatments for glaucoma (SLT). I also have a specialist interest in corneal conditions.
I perform over 800 procedures annually for glaucoma and cataracts using monofocal, toric and multifocal lenses.
Currently, I am president of the Medical Contact lens and Ocular Surface Association (MCLOSA). I am a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the College of Optometrists.
