I am a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist specialising in all aspects of general cardiology and interventional cardiology. I am a very experienced cardiology specialist in Hampshire, who works in the field of ischemic heart disease, treating patients with heart attacks and angina with intracoronary stents. I look after patients with chest pains, breathlessness, blackouts and palpitations.
I am also an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and valvular heart disease. I have British Society of Echocardiography accreditation and perform echocardiograms myself during clinical consultations.
My patients particularly appreciate the fact that I can conduct a clinical review, perform an echocardiogram and arrange heart beat monitoring during only one consultation, which is often referred as a one-stop clinic.
I have performed over 1,000 stenting procedures and regularly treat patients with acute heart problems in Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover.
I can perform not only coronary angiograms and stents, but also echocardiograms, heart beat/Holter monitoring and cardioversions. In addition to this, my service also includes 24hrs ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. I see both insured and self-funding patients and there is no need for a referral.
I graduated 15 years ago and have worked in four NHS hospitals since then. I started as a junior doctor in 2008 and rotated through Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, University Hospital Southampton, and University Hospital Dorset in Bournemouth.
In 2019 I successfully gained a doctorate degree (DM) from the University of Southampton. In addition to full training in general cardiology, I also completed three sub-specialty fellowship years in coronary intervention. From February 2022 I have worked as a Consultant Cardiologist at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust in Basingstoke, Winchester, and Andover.
I am an author of 16 peer-reviewed publications in the field of cardiology, including an article, which was published during the recent pandemic and described patients with COVID-19, who were having symptoms of heart attacks.
In 2023 I started working as a heart specialist at Spire Clare Park Hospital, where I provide private treatments to patients with heart problems.
Recently, my team and I received a 'WOW Award' from a very satisfied NHS patient, who described the care that he received as 'fantastic, incredible and professional'.
I am a highly regarded and respected consultant cardiologist, who always puts the interest of his patients first.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Bart Olechowski at Spire include:

I live in Winchester with my wife, who is a local pharmacist, two children who go to local schools and a dog named Sassy.

I regularly take part in running events, including two half marathons in 2023 (Basingstoke and Ealing), a half marathon in Winchester in 2022 and a marathon in Southampton in 2021. I also organise weekly running sessions for my cardiology department, which adds to my team's wellbeing and professional satisfaction.
