MB BS, DPM, DNB in Psychiatry, MRCPsych
I'm a Consultant Psychogeriatrician with Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Trust since November 2000. I have private practice at Spire Claremont Hospital.
I run Claremont's memory clinic which offers a comprehensive assessment to enable the early detection of dementia. We can assess whether any impairment is likely to be caused by Alzheimer’s disease or one of the other common forms of dementia. The assessment include a full medical history, neuropsychological assessment, physical examination and any tests or scans, as well as treatment recommendations.
I started my psychiatric training in United Kingdom with Sheffield and North Trent Training Scheme from March 1995, became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in June 1997 and completed higher specialist training in Old Age Psychiatry in October 2000.
I graduated from Coimbatore Medical College, India in 1988 and started my post graduate psychiatric training at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore, India in 1989. At the end of the two year residency programme, I was awarded the Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM). I completed my Senior Residency training in Psychiatry from March 1992 to December 1994 at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Pondicherry, India. I obtained further postgraduate qualification – Diplomate of the National Board for the practice of Psychiatry from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, India.
