Iron, vitamin and mineral level tests at Spire Claremont Hospital

Deficiencies can have a significant negative impact on your life.

A simple blood test can help to identify a lack of certain vitamins, minerals and iron in the blood. Having a deficiency can have a significant impact on your health.

A referral letter from a consultant or GP is required before booking any blood tests.

Why you might need it

The lack of certain vitamins and iron in your blood can have significant effects on your health. Symptoms you may be experiencing include a loss of appetite or taste, an intolerance to the cold, dandruff, hair loss, redness at the side of your nose or eyes, a yellowing of the skin on your face or upper body, brittle, upturned or flaking nails, and muscle wasting.

Or you may simply feel tired or off-colour, and want to get to the root of the cause of your symptoms.

A simple blood test can test whether you have deficiencies in vitamins and minerals including:

  • Calcium
  • Iron
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Folate (folic acid)
  • All vitamin B types including vitamin B12
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin C
