I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician specialising in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, clinical nutrition and upper and lower GI endoscopy. I am an accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist. I studied medicine at the Imperial College School of Medicine, London where I won several prizes.
I completed gastroenterology training at Southampton University Hospital as a specialist registrar before conducting three years' research in clinical nutrition and inflammatory bowel disease at the University of Southampton.
I was appointed to the Royal Berkshire Hospital as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in June 2009 and I am one of two accredited bowel cancer screening programme colonoscopists in West Berkshire. I am currently the training programme director for gastroenterology for the Oxford Deanery and chair an RCP working party on clinically assisted feeding.
