"Working at Spire Dunedin Hospital I feel the attitude and welcoming nature of the staff and facilities are good. Patients have fed back to me that they feel looked after by the staff."
I completed my specialist registrar training in the Oxford Deanery in 2002 and started working as a Consultant Paediatrician at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading. I now consult at Spire Dunedin Hospital, Reading, where I look after general paediatric problems from neonates to 16 years of age.
I specialise in general paediatrics with specific interest in infant feeding problems such as reflux, cow’s milk allergy. Also headaches, migraine and migraine variants; fits, faints or possible epilepsy; unusual head shapes; syncope, chest pain, palpitations, heart murmurs; UTIs.
I'm interested in respiratory problems including asthma and persistent cough. I also look at bowel problems, including recurrent abdominal pain, constipation and persistent loose stools; initial diagnosis of severe fatigue; initial assessment of developmental concerns and then appropriate onward referral; other general paediatric problems.
A GP referral is required, so that all notes are available before a consultation with me.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Ravi Kumar at Spire include:
