I am a consultant Gynaecologist with over 24 years of experience in the field of obstetrics and Gynaecology. I completed my specialist training in the Oxford Deanery and currently work as a consultant obstetrician and Gynaecologist at The Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Trust in Reading.
I am passionate about providing women with safe and evidence based care, individualised to each women that I treat. My areas of specialism is benign gynaecology, menopause care, early pregnancy and gynaecology scanning.
I lead the menopause services in my department and regularly see and treat women with complex medical problems to help them navigate perimenopause and menopause. I take a holistic approach and incorporate evidence based lifestyle medicine practices into the care that I offer.
In addition to performing outpatient consultations, I also offer a range of gynaecological minor and major surgical procedures in theatre and in outpatient settings.
I apply the latest medical knowledge and expertise in the field of gynaecology and my own-shared experience of being a woman when supporting my patients. Throughout a women’s life we experience a unique range of hormonal and reproductive changes that can be challenging and would benefit from expert support. During my time in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I have helped women navigate menarche, menstrual problems, pelvic pain, miscarriage, pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause.
I can provide face-to-face or virtual consultations to suit your needs. Some of my regular services include complex menopause care, early pregnancy and gynaecology scanning, well women checks, conditions in early pregnancy, miscarriage and termination of pregnancy (up to 12 weeks), contraceptive care including insertion or removal of contraceptive devices, STI screening, menstrual problems including treating fibroids, pelvic pain including endometriosis and adenomyosis, conditions of the vulva including vaginal atrophy and lichen sclerosis.
Seeing a gynaecologist should be a routine part of every women’s health check. I value and promote a trusted relationship between a women and her gynaecologist as she moves through the different stages of her life allowing her to optimise her current health and plan for the next stage of change.
Apart from treating patients, I am also very much involved in teaching the next generation of gynaecologist. I am the training programme director for specialist attached to Thames Valley deanery and I lead the teaching programme in my department for Oxford University medical students. I am a RCOG recognised specialist menopause trainer for gynaecologist.
