Harry Brownlow graduated with a first from Manchester University in 1990. His higher surgical training was on the Oxford academic programme based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the John Radcliffe Hospitals. He was awarded one of the two annual national prizes for his exit exams in trauma and orthopaedics. He has a basic research degree in Anatomy, a higher research degree in fracture healing, and has published widely in a number of specialist areas.
Harry was fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow surgery in Oxford, Reading and Sydney before being appointed a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in 2003.
He treats all shoulder and elbow conditions including fractures and dislocations in adults and children. The majority of his work is arthroscopic (keyhole) using the most up to date techniques for treating rotator cuff tears, dislocating shoulders and tennis elbow. Harry takes great care in recording surgical details and surgical outcome and therefore knows that he has a very high success rate with few major complications.
