"Spire Dunedin is warm and friendly with newly refurbished consulting rooms and modern theatres. The close knit supportive staff ensure my patients receive personalised care in a relaxed environment."
I am a triple fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising exclusively in shoulder, elbow and upper limb conditions, treatment and surgery. I perform a minimum of 450-500 operations a year. Procedures are a mixture of upper limb trauma, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder arthroplasty, elbow and hand surgery.
I am one of a few surgeons who are Members of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine UK, helping me to treat upper limb sports related injuries non-operatively. I am also uniquely skilled to provide my patients ultrasound guided injections. I use the latest technology and modern surgical techniques to ensure my patients can start rehabilitation sooner after surgery.
My general philosophy is that an accurate, specialist assessment together with a team-based approach to rehabilitation help patients to make a full recovery without the need for surgery in the majority of upper limb problems when managed early. I pride myself as being kind, friendly and above all a dedicated doctor for my patients to ensure a successful recovery. My practice is evidence based and I closely work with physiotherapists and radiologists to ensure my patients get the right diagnosis and prompt personalised treatment.
I undertook my medical degree at UCL and subsequent higher orthopaedic training in the East Midlands UK. I have trained in four of London's renowned tertiary hospitals and travelled as far as Japan to build my specialist skills in arthroscopic 'keyhole', shoulder and elbow surgery as well as shoulder replacement and, complex upper limb fracture surgery. I am also fellowship trained in hand and wrist surgery.
I continue to serve in the NHS and have a high volume specialist upper limb trauma and elective practice at the prestigious Royal Berkshire Hospital Shoulder and Elbow Unit, Reading.
I sit on the Theatre safety committee and am extensively involved in medical education which includes teaching Oxford University Medical students, physiotherapists, as well as nationally training future consultants in shoulder and elbow surgery. I also work as teaching faculty at the Royal College of Surgeons of England helping to enhance surgical care.

I live in Berkshire with my wife who works as a local psychiatrist. In my spare time I am working on improving my golf swing (thank you to many of my local patients who have given pointers!) and I enjoy travelling particularly to try different cuisines.
