I have 34 years' experience as a physician and gastroenterologist. I have trained and worked in Bristol, Edinburgh, Adelaide (Australia), and Hong Kong and have an MD thesis in alcoholic liver disease and am a fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and London.
I am currently a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist with NHS Lothian at St John's Hospital Livingston where I have been Clinical Director. I have also been Club Doctor for Currie RFC and a medical volunteer for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Research interests: Alcoholic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease and dyspepsia (acid related disorders).
