I trained in medicine at the University of Edinburgh and dermatology in Edinburgh. Before taking up my consultant post I spent three years studying for my MD degree on ‘Nitric Oxide as a regulator of apoptosis and inflammation in human skin following ultraviolet irradiation’. I work as a dermatology consultant in NHS Fife.
I am the skin cancer lead for NHS Fife and act as the South East Scotland managed clinical network (SCAN) skin cancer chair.
I am a member of the British Hair and Nails Society and act as medical advisor for Alopecia Help and Advice Scotland.
I am a member of the MRCP dermatology speciality question writing group. The remit of this group is to write exam questions for the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) written exam.

I live in South Edinburgh with my two young daughters. I am passionate about sport, my main interest include mountain running, triathlon, open water swimming, downhill skiing and ski mountaineering.
I enjoy exploring new restaurants in Edinburgh, socialising with friends and family and generally being outdoors in Scotland and around the world.
