I graduated in medicine from Cambridge and London Universities in 1989. I spent three years working in Oxford and gained an MD in infertility. Most of my clinical training was in South East Scotland. I became a consultant in 2001.
My main interests are surgery for urinary incontinence and prolapse. I perform urodynamic investigations and carry out a large number of tension-free vaginal tape operations (TVT) for patients with stress incontinence. I perform vaginal hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair operations for women with prolapse and sacrospinous fixation procedures for vaginal vault prolapse.
In women with menstrual dysfunction, I perform a wide range of procedures including endometrial ablation, Mirena® coil, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy as well as laparoscopic hysterectomy. I am an accredited colposcopist.

Outside work I enjoy spending time with my family. I have four children. We enjoy foreign travel, going out to the cinema and theatre, watching Scotland play rugby and walking the dog.
