I am a consultant in the Edinburgh department of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery. I am fully trained in all aspects of ear, nose and throat surgery although my main practice is surgery for benign and cancerous conditions of the head and neck including thyroid, nasal and sinus tumours and skin cancers.
I have experience in the diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland disease, as well as laser surgery for benign and malignant head and neck lesions. I am the only sub-specialty trained surgeon in Scotland with experience in upper airways reconstructive surgery for snoring and sleep apnoea.
An Edinburgh graduate, I undertook training in Edinburgh and Aberdeen. I undertook sub-speciality fellowship training in head and neck surgery and surgery for snoring and sleep apnoea in Adelaide, South Australia under the instruction of the late Dr Sam Robinson, Australia's most experienced upper airways reconstructive surgeon.
I have active research interests in pre-cancerous lesions of larynx as well as the surgical treatment of snoring and sleep apnoea.
