I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon based in Edinburgh since 2010. I am a specialist in cataract surgery, laser eye surgery, vision correction surgery and eyelid surgery.

Scotland's only hospital based service offering a full range of vision correction and cataract solutions. For cataract patients; multifocal and trifocal lens surgery, toric implants, accommodative lenses and standard (NHS) lens surgery. For vision correction patients; multifocal, trifocal, toric, accommodative and standard lens exchange, LASIK, PRK LASEK and EpiLASEK laser eye surgery.

For previous NHS cataract patients who want better vision without glasses; Sulcoflex piggy back multifocals, top up laser eye surgery. Poor vision from corneal scarring; excimer laser corneal reshaping (photo therapeutic keratectomy). Collagen crosslinking for keratoconus patients. 

Glaucoma patients; complete 'preventative care' programme. Complete range of functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery. Edinburgh and Lothian temporal artery biopsy service.

All treatment is offered with a full range of anaesthetic options with 'drops only plus intravenous sedation' being the recommended option for most procedures.

Originally from Balerno on the outskirts of Edinburgh, I completed my schooling in Chiswick and Richmond, West London. Since my Glasgow University days I have lived, worked and studied in Scotland, England, Wales, Africa, India, Pakistan and New Zealand. During my surgical training I was Chairman of the Royal College Ophthalmic Trainees Group and ophthalmic representative of the Association of the Medical Royal Colleges.

In my spare time I enjoy art and photography. I now live in the Scottish Borders with my wife and four young children and am Managing Director of Eye and Face Clinic Ltd.

Mr Ross owns 50% of Laservision Scotland Ltd, which owns 100% of a WaveLight Excimer Laser used at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital.
