Specialises in
I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2002. I completed my basic surgical training in the North East of England and moved to Edinburgh for my higher specialist training. At the end of my training I spent a year long specialist training fellowship in Vancouver, Canada, before returning to Edinburgh in July 2013 to take up a consultant post in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
My private practice reflects my NHS work. I have a specialist interest in hand, wrist and upper limb surgery, and run a weekly hand and wrist clinic at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. I also have a special interest in sports upper limb injuries, trauma and exercise induced pain.
I am the Training Programme Director for Orthopaedics in South East Scotland, co-director of the world-renowned Edinburgh International Trauma Symposium, and Treasurer for ARTOF, the Association for the Rational Treatment of Fractures.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Samuel Molyneux at Spire include:
Orthopaedics
Other treatments
Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh
British Orthopaedic Association
Orthopaedic Trauma Society
Association for the Rational Treatment of Fractures (Treasurer)
Consultant, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
I live in Edinburgh with my wife, Heather, who is a GP in Stockbridge, and our three children. In my spare time I enjoy squash, running and skiing.
