I was appointed as an Orthopaedic Consultant at Fife in 2007. My practice offers a ‘one stop’ shoulder clinic to shorten the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The clinic utilises examination techniques, radiographs and shoulder ultrasound, performed by myself at the first consultation if necessary, to diagnosis the shoulder problem. Further information about my practice and surgical procedures routinely performed is available on my website.
I underwent my Orthopaedic training from the West of Scotland region before embarking on subspecialty training in shoulder surgery. My expertise in shoulder surgery was attained from a one year fellowship at the internationally renowned Reading Shoulder Unit under the supervision of Mr Stephen Copeland and Mr Ofer Levy. I was awarded the Scottish travelling fellowship and British Elbow and Shoulder Society North American Fellowship, in 2006 - 2007. These travelling fellowships allowed me to visit shoulder surgeons in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Clinique Générale, Annecy, France.
I am actively involved in teaching and research. I am a faculty member on shoulder arthroscopy and shoulder arthroplasty courses.
My practice is audited using internationally validated scoring systems.
