I am an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon working in NHS Lothian. My sub-specialty interest and main practice is in head and neck surgery for both benign and malignant conditions, with a particular interest in facial reconstruction with microvascular techniques.
I qualified with honours in dentistry at Newcastle University and again with honours in medicine and surgery at the University of Dundee. Following my basic and higher surgical training in the West of Scotland.
I undertook a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and reconstruction in the Ninth Peoples Hospital in Shanghai, China – which is one of the busiest oral cancer units in the world.
During my time in NHS Lothian I have developed a sentinel node biopsy service for head and neck cancer, as well as developing the use of 3D technology and planning in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
I provide consultation and treatment for all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including dentoalveolar surgery, salivary gland surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, maxillofacial trauma and facial skin cancer surgery.
