"Spire Murrayfield provides expert care in a safe setting."
I am a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon at NHS Forth Valley. I trained in Edinburgh with Prof Mike Dixon OBE before undertaking a specialist oncoplastic fellowship with the outstanding firm at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in General & Breast Surgery and am on the GMC specialist register. I previously worked as a consultant in Cheshire and have now returned to Scotland to take up my current position.
I manage all aspects of benign and malignant breast disease including pain, nipple problems and reconstruction, revision surgery including implants and special interest in risk-reducing surgery and breast health checks.
I have a special interest in oncoplastic and cosmetic breast surgery and am a member of the Association of Breast Surgeons UK Aesthetic committee. I undertake complex breast cancer operations and reconstruction including implant-based reconstruction and risk-reducing surgery for patients with increased risk of breast cancer due to genetic mutation or family history. I also work as a medico-legal expert in breast surgery and disease and am happy to see patients who wish a second opinion.
I have published and presented widely in the field of breast disease including the use of fat transfer procedures to improve the aesthetic outcome following breast cancer surgery.

I am the mother of two young boys and am acutely aware of the busy, multi-faceted lives that women lead. I know that a diagnosis of breast cancer doesn't just bring worry about treatment and outcomes, but also significant concerns about how this will affect the many other people and roles in our lives. As a surgeon my goal is to listen to your hopes and expectations, and to work with you and my colleagues in surgery, nursing, radiology and oncology to get the best chance of beating your cancer. With the excellent results that we have from breast cancer treatment nowadays, I want to be able to provide you with an outcome that you are satisfied with when you look in the mirror.
