I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in the treatment of a diabetic retinopathy, macular diseases and retinal vascular disorders. I have over 15 years of experience in Ophthalmology and have trained in Glasgow and the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh.
I take an active role in postgraduate education and am currently an educational supervisor for Ophthalmology trainees in Edinburgh and Fife. I also take an active role in undergraduate medical education at the Edinburgh Medical School and am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Ophthalmology at the Edinburgh University. I am part of the advisory group on Macula and Medical Retina Service Improvement in NHS Lothian. I have a keen interest in simulation-based training of ophthalmic procedures, mainly lasers in the management of retinal disease.
I have numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and have presented at many national and international meetings. I am currently involved in research in macular and retinal degeneration.

In my spare time, I practice yoga and enjoy hill walking with my dog. I am a keen cook and love experimenting with various spices and flavours around the world.
