• Spire Edinburgh Hospitals have launched a new cataract surgery package to lower the price for patients paying for their own treatment.

Spire Edinburgh Hospitals have created a new cataract surgery price package for patients who want fast access to treatment for cataracts. A standard cataract surgery package is now available for £2,000, so that those struggling with cataracts can more easily access treatment and get back to doing the things they enjoy.

Cataracts are a common eye condition that occurs when the lens inside the eye becomes cloudy or opaque. This interferes with the passage of light, leading to blurred or distorted vision. Cataracts typically develop slowly over time and can affect one or both eyes. They are more common in older adults but can occur at any age.

While cataract development is a normal part of the ageing process, they can begin to affect vision and day to day life. When quality of life is affected, it is time to act.

Spire Edinburgh Hospitals have been delivering outstanding healthcare in the east of Scotland for 40 years. They treat eye surgery and treatments at their Spire Shawfair Park Hospital, offering a wide range of treatments for common eye problems including cataract surgery.
