Aquablation therapy for relieving benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms

Spire Edinburgh Hospitals is the first in Scotland to offer aquablation, a minimally invasive treatment for enlarged prostate (BPH). Aquablation therapy combines robotic technology to guide a heat-free waterjet for precise tissue removal providing precise, consistent and long-term relief no matter how large your prostate is. Aquablation therapy carries a low risk of common side effects typically associated with alternative BPH treatments, such as loss of sexual function and incontinence.

iTind treatment

A small device is inserted into the prostate for five to seven days, after which it is completely removed. The device expands and applies gentle pressure, remodelling the tissue and creating a wider channel through which urine can flow

  • The procedure can be performed under general of local anaesthetic
  • Preserves sexual and ejaculatory function
  • Routinely urinary catheter free
