I qualified as an upper limb surgeon in 1997 with my main interests in reconstructive surgery in the upper limb, treatment of degenerative and sports injuries. I see patients who require hand and wrist surgery, but the majority of my work concentrates on shoulder and elbow surgery. I also perform multiple lower limb surgeries for general trauma.
I operate on the full range of commonly seen elective hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder cases, as well as more complex procedures, such as wrist ligament reconstruction, wrist arthroscopy and joint replacement in the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.
I am a keen teacher and am on the faculty for the ChM - Trauma & Orthopaedics course run by Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. In addition, I examine on FRCS (Orth) Upper limb and Basic Sciences revision course at Wrightington Hospital.
I am the Foundation Programme Director for my trust, looking after the Foundation Year 2 doctors. I have contributed to chapters in Postgraduate Orthopaedic books and examines medical students at the University of Lancaster.
