I have more than 25 years of experience in general paediatrics and neonatology and have always been passionate about providing the best family-centred approach to caring for babies and children from the perinatal period to adulthood.
I have a specialist interest in paediatric allergic conditions like eczema, food allergies, urticaria, asthma, hay fever; and have expertise in fetal medicine and neonatology. I am happy to see babies, children and young people from 0-16 years to support their health and holistic wellbeing.
I assess infant and child allergies with tests including formal skin prick testing, and provide specific allergy treatments for food allergies, eczema, wheezing, and aeroallergen-induced issues. In my general paediatric clinics, I support children with various paediatric and child health issues from 0-16 years of age.
I have an active interest in supporting babies with early intervention in their neurodevelopmental care to help them achieve their maximum potential. I am happy to see babies for a full postnatal comprehensive examination, advice on feeding, prevention of infant allergies, weight issues, weaning, timely introduction of allergenic foods, first aid training, immunisation advice, development assessment, high-risk baby and premature follow-up, follow-up of antenatally diagnosed scan abnormalities, infants of mothers with medical conditions, congenital infections, reflux, constipation, milk allergies, eczema, birth marks.
I am a Consultant General Paediatrician at East Surrey Hospital and have been the Lead for the Neonatal Fetal Medicine service there since 2016. I am also a Honorary Consultant at the Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Trust Paediatric Allergy department. Previously I held a regional lead role as the Joint Neonatal Clinical Lead at Surrey Heartlands Local Maternity and Neonatal Systems for two years until 2022.
I have a strong interest in teaching and research. I teach doctors, nurses and midwives all over the UK in the neonatal life support course. Currently I am the Principal Investigator at East Surrey Hospital for a multicentred multinational trial on RSV vaccine in infants. I am the Joint Lead for an innovative staff support project for postnatal care at East Surrey Hospital.
