In addition to general ophthalmology, I specialise in cataract surgery and the treatment of retinal disorders including macular degeneration, vein occlusions, inflammatory eye disease, and diabetic eye disease.
I have more than 20 years of experience working in the NHS and have done more than 10,000 cataract surgeries including complex cataract cases with excellent surgical outcomes and low complication rates.
Following my Medical Retina Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital being appointed as a substantive consultant at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust in 2017. As Lead Clinician for Ophthalmology at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust, I have overseen several service improvement projects including introducing virtual clinics in ophthalmology and assisting the Trust in achieving an overall Outstanding CQC rating. I am also the Clinical Governance Lead for the department which provides assurance of patient safety and quality of care.
I am passionate about education and as a clinical supervisor, I am actively involved in training our future ophthalmologists.
