Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant ENT and Nasal Plastic Surgeon with over 17 years' experience in Brighton, Sussex and Surrey and I bring an expert, modern and professional approach to my patients.
My aim is to make your consultation comprehensive, straightforward and as easy as possible to resolve your problems and quickly return you to health. I perform a wide range of ear, nose, throat and neck operations and treat all general ENT conditions in adults and children.
I have a special interest in nose disease and nasal reconstruction. My private practice mainly involves cosmetic nose and ear surgery, sinusitis, nasal problems, ear conditions and paediatric ENT care.
I trained at centres of excellence in London in both ear, nose and throat and plastic surgery and then complimented this by winning scholarships to work and learn with leading surgeons in France, Germany and America.
I undertook my research thesis at the University of Sussex and was subsequently awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Otology prize for this work. Since then I have published on a number of topics including rhinoplasty, facial surgery and ear disease.
I maintain a keen interest in surgical innovation and travel internationally to learn new techniques. I am currently at the forefront of balloon sinuplasty in the UK, the latest development in sinus surgery, which has significantly advanced our surgical ability to manage sinusitis.
I also have introduced coblation adenotonsillectomy to the Royal Alexander Children's Hospital, Brighton. This technique has markedly reduced both the post-operative pain and the risk of bleeding following this surgery, thus making this operation much safer.
I undertake the following managerial positions: I am chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, an “Appraiser” for my fellow consultants, and lead clinician for clinical audit in our ENT department.
I am a council member for the “Overseas Development Committee of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. I was also previously on the Editorial Board to “ENT news”.
I also undertake the following: Undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching, examiner to Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, Clinical and Educational supervisor to trainee doctors, GP education, Lecturer on EAFPS Rhinoplasty course at St Mary’s Hospital, London and previous examiner to University of London.
In addition I also use my medical skills further afield. I am a member of Impact UK and travel annually to Bangladesh to undertake ENT operations – particularly hearing conservation and restoration surgery. I have been involved in setting up training facilities in Phnom Penh. I am currently active in raising grants for the ENT Department at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre, Malawi. As part of this project I ran the London Marathon.
