I am a Consultant Respiratory Physician practicing at Spire Harpenden Hospital since 2012. I provide an NHS service at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital in Bedfordshire.
I was awarded a prized 'Darzi Fellowship' in thoracic oncology and medical leadership while at the Royal Marsden Hospital. This included managerial training from the University of Leeds, as well as education and oncology experience under the supervision of Dr Sanjay Popat in the modern investigation and treatment of lung cancer.
I completed a Masters degree with distinction (MSc) in Allergy from Imperial College, London, undertaken whilst at The Royal Brompton Hospital, specialising in chronic cough, asthma and allergy. I have multiple research papers published in international journals and have presented my work at national and international conferences.
As well as being a Consultant Respiratory Physician, I am also the Clinical Director of Acute Medicine, lead consultant for airways disease and pleural disease, and a lead consultant for lung cancer at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital. These roles involve many aspects of service improvement, training and development. I am also part of the educational faculty, training junior doctors and medical students from University College London. I am also the primary investigator for several respiratory studies at the hospital.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Tim Chapman at Spire include:

My private life mainly revolves around my young family, but I do occasionally get to satisfy my interest in rugby (nowadays mostly through coaching the junior team) and winter sports. I have recently tried to train my dog to an acceptable standard, but not with much success.
