I am a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital. With over 20 years’ experience in the field of urology and men’s health, having completed over 20,000 urological procedures and received training both in the UK and aboard I am always thriving to learn new skills in urology to provide the best quality of care for my patients.
I have a specialist interest in endoluminal endourology and I am the lead stone surgeon at my NHS hospital treating complex renal stones with both flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) with excellent outcomes. I established the stone meetings within my department to streamline the treatment for kidney stones ensuring the best treatment for all patients.
I also specialise in treating urinary symptoms caused by benign prostate enlargement using minimally invasive surgical options including prostatic urothelial lift (UroLift), Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and Endoscopic enucleation of Prostate (EEP). Along with the management of urological cancers, I am also heavily involved in the management of patients with erectile dysfunction and penile curvature (Peyronie’s disease), management of female urinary incontinence as well as management of general urological conditions.
I have published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and I have presented in both national and international meetings and conferences. Along with being involved in a number of research projects throughout my career on various urological conditions, I am committed to research and evidence-based practices in urology through my current role as the research lead in urology at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.
I have undergone extensive training in both the UK and abroad, having worked in major university hospitals in the East Midlands and the West of Scotland, before undertaking Uro-oncology research at the University of Toronto, Canada. I was awarded the certificate of completion of training (CCT) from the Health Education East Midlands and the certificate of Fellow of European Board of Urology (FEBU). I am both UK and European Board of Urology certified and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
I treat patients with a wide range of urological conditions and I am always available as a source of information to General Practitioners seeking guidance in the specialty of urology.
