MBBS, MSc(Urol), FRCS(Urol)
I've been a consultant urological surgeon for 23 years. I'm an expert in surgical treatment of Benign Prostate Enlargement (BPH) and urinary tract stone disease, offering the latest surgical treatments.
I have a lot of experience in prostate cancer diagnostics and advising about the need or otherwise of radical treatment for prostate cancer both surgical or radiotherapy.
Having been a consultant for over two decades, I have an in-depth knowledge of general urological conditions and can offer treatments for some of the most basic, but troublesome, conditions such as overactive bladders, urinary tract infections and penile conditions including sexual dysfunction.
I specialise in HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enuclation of the Prostate) surgery. I've performed over 1,000 of these procedures and my unit has completed over 2,000 of these cases with excellent outcomes. Additionally, I offer Aquablation (High power water jet surgery) which is new and preserves sexual function in the majority of men.
I originally set up our prostate cancer diagnostic techniques at my NHS hospital. This involves targeted biopsies and reading MRI scans as some men with elevated PSA levels will not need biopsies.
I have performed over 500 stone procedures using Holmium laser to fragment stones in a minimally invasive manner.
Investigating blood in the urineĀ up to 25% patients have an underlying cancer), urinary tract infections (male and female), overactive bladder symptoms, foreskin issues, scrotal lumps, pelvic pain in men, erectile dysfunction.
To date, I have performed 1,000 HoLEP procedures, 500 laser stone procedures, 500 transperineal prostate biopsies, 1,000 circumcisions.
I have been a mock examiner for the FRCS(Urol) specialisation exam.
