I graduated in 1985 and trained in Rheumatology in Birmingham and Bath. I obtained my medical doctorate from the University of Birmingham in 1994, investigating immunological mechanisms related to rheumatological conditions. In Bath, I also developed my special interest in ankylosing spondylitis and related conditions (spondylo arthropathies).
I am a member of the international group ASAG (Ankylosing Spondylitis Assessment Group), with the aim of studying spondyloarthropathies closer. I became a Consultant in 1996 and joined King George's Hospital in 2004.
