I have more than 15 years' experience in ENT, and my undergraduate and postgraduate training took place in Egypt and England.
I have gained wide experience in ENT working in a number of major teaching hospitals including Imperial Collage in London, Manchester University Hospitals, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and Cambridge University Hospitals.
To date I have preformed over 4,000 surgeries in ENT with over 1,000 in ear surgery including cholesteatoma, tympanoplasty (repair of ear drum perforations), ossiculoplasty (fixing hearing bones) and implants and also over 1,500 sinus surgery and skull base over the past 15 years.
During my higher surgical training I also undertook a masters degree in endoscopic endonasal approaches to skull base and a PhD in cochlear implantation.
My passion for hearing and balance disorders stems from the insight I gained into these fascinating and often challenging conditions. I was awarded the prestigious American Academy Fellowship in 2013 and two Middle East Academy Awards in Dubai.
I have been awarded two prestigious Fellowships - one in Sheffield where I was trained in otology and ear surgery with vast experience in management of balance disorders and hearing implants and one in Cambridge where I have provided super specialist training in skull base surgery, otology, hearing implantation surgery, ménière’s disease, endoscopic sinus surgery and pituitary surgery.
NHS practice is at Queens Hospital, East London as an ENT and Skull based Consultant. I am a member of a team delivering high quality care in otology, paediatric surgery and sinus surgery, developing laser surgery in ears and balloon dilatation for sinus surgery and eustachian tube.
I am also a clinical governance lead of the ENT department in Queens hospital, East London, as well as one of Warrington and Halton educational supervisors for Otolaryngology trainees in the north west, GP trainees, and the foundation programme.
