My special interest is in minimally invasive surgical techniques, performing laparoscopic and open hernia repairs, surgery for pilonidal sinus, gall bladder surgery, haemorrhoids treatment (including THD), bowel resections for colorectal cancer, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and OGD endoscopies.
I graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan in 2002. I completed my basic surgical training in Merseyside, UK. My interest in surgical research brought me to St Thomas’ Hospital in London where I completed a higher degree at Kings College London.
My higher surgical training was in London (North East Thames rotation) and I obtained valuable training while working with world-renowned surgeons at tertiary centres in London. After finishing my training, I did a post CCT fellowship in robotic surgery at Portsmouth.
I have been working as a consultant colorectal and general surgeon at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital NHS Trust since April 2018.
