I am a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon and hold Fellowships in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Royal Colleges of Glasgow and Edinburgh. I worked in the NHS for over 23 years and have extensive experience in complex cataract surgery including multifocal, toric, extended depth of focus lens implants, Lens Replacement Surgery, Presbyopia correction, to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses.
I have a particular interest in oculoplastics, including cosmetic procedures like blepharoplasty for baggy eyelids, ptosis correction for droopy eyelids, eyebrow lift and other assorted plastic procedures around the eyes.
I have been managing glaucoma patients, both in NHS and in private practice and besides other treatments, offer minimally invasive glaucoma surgery using micro-shunts.
Over last five years, I have been awarded several Certificates of Excellence by Iwantgreatcare.org, based on anonymous feedback provided by our patients regarding treatments received under our care, especially at Spire Hartswood Hospital. I am passionate about spending lot of chair time for counselling, providing patients with detailed written information about their treatments and involving them in the decision making. I am ably supported and assisted by a senior ophthalmic nurse and we work together both in the clinic and operating theatre as a team.
I am a member of professional organisations like UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, one of the Founder members of British Oculoplastic Surgery Society, UK and Eire Glaucoma Society, British Society for Refractive Surgeons, Aesthetic Multispecialty Society. I have several publications in peer reviewed journals, numerous presentations, instruction courses in national and international conferences to my credit.
I am actively engaged in audits of patient reported outcomes and have been involved in teaching and training. In the past, I have served as College Tutor and an Examiner for the Fellowship examinations of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and The Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. I have been working as an appraiser for Spire Healthcare for over five years.

Retired from NHS as a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon from Barking Havering Redbridge University Hospital Trust after 23 years of service
I enjoy gardening, travelling and support charities like Royal British Legion, Children with Cancer UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Royal Medical Benevolent Fund.
With support from Lions and Rotary clubs, I have conducted several charity eye camps in Honduras, Romania, India.
