Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I have 20 years’ experience in ENT and have been a consultant within the NHS for the past 10 years. I treat all general ear, nose and throat conditions.
I perform surgical procedures including tonsillectomy, grommets, endoscopic sinus surgery, septoplasty and polypectomy. I specialise in complex Head and Neck conditions including Thyroid and Voice problems.
My specialist training was in London, where I received training in all aspects of ENT namely Otology, Rhinology, Paediatrics and Head and Neck surgery. I undertook my subspecialty training in Head and Neck cancer surgery at the Royal Marsden, Charing Cross and University College Hospitals. I have been the clinical lead for Head and Neck cancer in Essex since 2012 leading the multidisciplinary team at Broomfield Hospital.
My NHS and private practice are similar. I have performed over 1,000 adenoid and tonsillectomy operations. I have carried out over five hundred complex head and neck procedures and over five hundred major rhinology procedures FESS, polypectomy and septoplasty. I perform forty thyroid/parathyroid procedures per year, my outcome data is recorded on the BAETS database.
I am the Chair of the Head and Neck Essex Cancer Network.
Below is feedback from some of my patients at Spire Wellesley Hospital:Â
November 2021: 'Mr Philpott at all times explained the procedure, outcome and follow up treatment which gave me confidence to go ahead with the operation'.Â
December 2021: The consultant took care to explain my procedure and answered all my questions. I felt comfortable and confident that I would be in safe hands and was reassured prior to the surgery.
December 2021: Mr Philpot was a joy to work with. He was very clear and caring and really took the time to understand my concerns and listen to my previous poor experience with another hospital, and why I wanted a different outcome this time round. He was able to not only suggest a way to correct the issue but also to look into a possible cause, something that no other doctor had done.Â
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Jonathan Philpott at Spire include:
Ear Nose and Throat (ENT)
Other treatments
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Hartswood Hospital.
