Virtual consultations:
I am an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex and Spire London East Hospital in Redbridge. I offer private foot and ankle surgery and general orthopaedic surgery in our clean and comfortable private hospitals. Although I manage all general trauma and orthopaedic conditions, including hip and knee surgery, my specialist interests include simple and complex adult foot and ankle surgery, and paediatric (children's) orthopaedics.
My approach to private practice echoes my NHS work. I offer a professional, sympathetic service and aim to provide the best possible evidence-based treatment to my patients.
At Barking Havering and Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon. My NHS practice is at King George Hospital in Goodmayes and at Queens Hospital in Romford, Essex, where I specialise in foot and ankle surgery and orthopaedic surgery for children. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.
After graduation I started basic surgical training in Newcastle Upon Tyne and then completed my higher surgical training at The Royal London Hospital and the Percivall Pott Rotation. I undertook further specialist training in foot and ankle surgery at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and also in children's orthopaedic surgery at the Royal London Hospital. I was awarded the Ilizarov Travelling Fellowship by Smith and Nephew, which took me to Kurgan in Russia.
As well as keeping up to date with the latest and most effective forms of treatment in trauma and orthopaedics, I teach surgeons in various practical orthopaedic and fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons courses (FRCS). Educational courses that I have organised are: Queens FRCS (trauma and orthopaedics) clinical course; Ponseti course for club feet; Queens MRCS mock exam course; Orthopaedic and trauma course for Accident & Emergency. I am passionate about teaching and was instrumental in Queens Hospital obtaining the Training Hospital of the Year 2014, for trauma and orthopaedics in Royal London Rotation.
My teaching, training and patient care has continually been recognised and has been nominated for and subsequently won the following awards: Barking Havering and Redbridge Trust (BHR) Star of the Month in December 2012; BHR Star of the Year 2013, runner up; Nominated for BHR Staff Pride Award for Inspirational Leader 2013; Nominated for Trainer of the Year 2014 for Royal London Rotation; Professional Excellence Award from Telugu NRI Forum at British Parliament 2014; Winner of Trainer of the Year 2015 from Percivall Pott Rotation; Nominated for Trainer of the Year 2015 from British Orthopaedic Trainee Association; Winner of Highly Commended Clinical Supervisor of the Year for PGMDE, UCL partners 2016 and Nominated for Trainer of the Year 2016 by Royal London Rotation.
