I am an Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, with a special interest in all aspects of knee surgery and sports injuries.

I undertook my medical training at the London Hospital Medical College, gaining my MBBS in 1989. Following full registration, I undertook my basic surgical training in the London region and obtained Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. I subsequently undertook specialist orthopaedic training between 1994 and 2000 on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) Training Programme where I was also awarded the prestigious Johnson and Johnson Arthroplasty Fellowship. Upon completion of my training, I undertook a specialist knee and sports trauma fellowship in New Zealand & Australia in 1999.

I took up my post as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in knee surgery at Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust in 2000 where I was also Clinical Director for the Musculoskeletal Service. I am an active Faculty Member of Knee Surgery Training Courses and have been on National Trainee Appointments Committees. In 2021, I moved on from a Full-Time to Honorary Contract position with Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and continue to provide NHS and private treatments via Spire London East Hospital, Spire Hartswood Hospital, Nuffield Health The Holly Hospital and Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital.

I have a particular interest in sports injuries and have treated sports men and women at various levels. I hold a prestigious FIFA diploma in football medicine and a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I work closely with numerous sports physiotherapists and work with surgeons around the country in developing/trialing new techniques in arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery. I have developed rapid rehabilitation programmes associated with meniscal surgery, traumatic osteochondral lesions requiring repair, cartilage transplantation, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and focal/partial knee replacements.

For the young arthritic knee, there are various arthroscopic procedures and minimally invasive unicompartmental (partial) knee replacements. I also offer the latest in knee replacement surgery, including the bespoke 3D printed personalised total knee replacements. I am also trained in robotic knee surgery.

More recently, I have been exploring the latest in biological regenerative solutions, including stem cell therapies for osteoarthritis.

I am available for consultations for children aged five and above.
