"Spire Hospitals provide first class health care and is staffed by highly motivated staff and offers opportunity to work closely with colleagues allied to your speciality,. This is reflected in the levels of satisfaction expressed by both patients and consultants."
I have 28 years of experience at consultant level specialising in all aspects of gastroenterology but specifically interested in bowel disease. As such I am proficient in both diagnostic and therapeutic upper (gastroscopy) and lower (colonoscopy) gastrointestinal endoscopy.
I have performed well over 10,000 Upper GI endoscopy and 300 - 400 colonoscopy procedures a year.
In the NHS, I run dedicated clinics for inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) but also see patients with other GI conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and coeliac disease.
I joined the Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust in 1995. The experience and skills I had accumulated during this period has been of great help to my patients and to my trainees, many of whom are now consultants in their own rights. I am particularly interested in inflammatory bowel disease and nutrition and run an inflammatory bowel disease clinic at NHS hospital.
