I am a specialist in lower limb orthopaedics taking referrals for major joint arthroplasty, ACL reconstruction, knee and ankle arthroscopy and general foot and ankle conditions. My main interest is in knee surgery – including sports injuries, cruciate ligament injuries, partial and total joint replacement, and computer guided surgery. I am also trained in less invasive techniques for partial knee replacement and hip replacement.
I qualified from St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London in 1992. I spent over two years as a senior trainee with consultants who work at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC) in Surrey specialising in hip and knee surgery and subsequently spent 15 months as a consultant performing total hip and knee replacements, unicompartmental knee replacement and ACL reconstruction. I passed the specialty exam FRCS (Trauma and orthopaedics) in 2006.
In my training I undertook a fellowship in New Zealand (2002) focusing on trauma and knee surgery. I also undertook full time research (2004/5) at Imperial College London under the supervision of Prof. A.A. Amis studying the anatomy of the ACL and PCL of the knee including publishing papers on the attachments of the bundles of the ACL and PCL and designing a prototype tibial ACL guide. I have a postgraduate diploma in sports and exercise medicine from the University of Bath (2001). I was awarded an MS degree at the University of London 2011, for my thesis on ACL.
In May 2010 I was appointed as a substantive Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Goole Hospital (part of the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) and subsequently Orthopaedic Lead Surgeon. At Goole I will develop the lower limb service to include being a centre for computer navigation in knee surgery and developing ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair at our hospital.

I am married to Rochelle and we have two girls, Jessica and Brianna. We have settled into our new home really well and are thoroughly enjoying our move from Surrey up here to Yorkshire. I enjoy most sports, but in particular rugby union (supporting the Ospreys). Since moving in I'm now getting to grips with rugby league. My musical tastes are varied ranging from classical music and singing to rock music.
