Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I am a consultant ENT Surgeon and have been a teaching hospital consultant ENT surgeon for over 10 years. I have an in-depth experience of diagnosing and treating problems and diseases of the ear, nose and throat in both adults and children including nasal blockage, sinus surgery, hearing loss and balance disorders and snoring treatments. I am interested in all aspects of otolaryngology with my special areas of interest are in hearing and rhinoplasty surgery. I also regularly see and treat children with a range of ENT complaints including tonsillitis and glue ear.
I receive referrals from other consultants and colleagues especially for problems relating to my subspecialist interests of ear problems. I have trained in both the UK and Australia. I pride myself on giving comprehensive and straightforward explanations of problems and treatment options to my patients. Although an experienced surgeon many ENT complaints can be treated medically and don’t require an operation. Only by listening to the patients’ history and undertaking appropriate examinations and investigations can the best treatment plans be advised. I try to treat every patient as I would want to be treated myself, if I was the patient.
I carry out several hundred operations per year including general and sub-specialist surgeries.
My NHS and private audits shows minimal complication rates and I keep up-to-date with continuing medical education and research.
I am Lead Clinician for the Hull ENT department. My academic posts include being an Honorary Senior Lecturer to the Hull York Medical School and an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I have enjoyed undertaking charitable surgical field trips to Nepal and Bangladesh.
