Spire Hull and East Riding is excited to invite you to our next Primary Care Education Symposium, hosted at Lazaat in Cottingham! This is a face-to-face event held on Saturday, 7th June and will take place over the morning, with the arrival time being 9AM and the event closing at 2PM.

As a part of the morning, the following consultants will be providing presentations:

Dr Deepa Narayanan - Chemical Pathology consultant with experience in this and metabolic medicine for 10 years, specialising in the diagnosis of cholesterol disorders, osteoporosis, vitamin D deficiency, and much more. Dr Narayanan has diagnosed and managed over 1,500 patients for cholesterol management, as well as over 1,250 for metabolic bone disease.

Mr Reza Mayahi - Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 15 years experience, taking a specialist interest in knee surgery, including sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction and osteotomy, as well as partial and total knee replacement. Mr Mayahi has undertaken training in Cambridge and Oxford, as well as in Sydney, Australia, at the internationally renowned North Sydney Orthopaedic and Spots Medicine Centre.

Dr Shiva Mongolu - Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist, specialising in diabetes, endocrionology and metabolism. With 9 years of consulting experience, Dr Mongolu has a focus on pituary and adrenal disease, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, PCOS and gynaecological endocrionology, with skills at treating diabetes in a range of endocrinological conditions.

Dr Sophie Dorsey - Consultant Neurologist with a special interest areas in epilepsy, headacheas and neuro-ophthalmology. She works alongside Prof Fayyaz Ahmed in the specialist migraine service, as well as being the current lead for headache services at HRI. Dr Dorsey has been involved in scientific writings for headache related vascular disease, as well as holding a particular interest in the management of headache disorders in women related to hormonal influences, pregnancy and postpartum.

Dr Kanika Grover - Consultant Paediatrician with special interest in Autism and ADHD. Dr Grover has over 30 years experience working in paediatrics, with extensive focus on developmental difficulties and differences in children, having worked for 15 years as a Consultant in Developmental Paediatrics and specialising in offering Autism and ADHD assessments.

All of our consultant speakers, in addition to their talks and presentations tailored towards Primary Care, will be providing Q&A sessions regarding their specialties, as well as advising on referral indicators and management techniques for primary care HCPs.
