Specialises in
I have been a consultant urogynaecologist for over 16 years. My areas of expertise include conservative and surgical management of incontinence and prolapse, recurrent UTI’s, painful bladder syndrome, hysteroscopic surgery and management of menstrual problems and the menopause. I also have significant experience in dealing with post natal prolapse and incontinence as well as conservative management of some bowel problems related to the pelvic floor.
I specialise in all areas of urogynaecology both conservative and surgical. For prolapse I offer; physiotherapy, pessary management and surgery. For overactive bladder; fluid management, medication and injection therapy. For stress incontinence; physio, medication or surgery. I have expertise in seeing young girls and teenagers with bladder or gynaecological problems. I have more than 15 years experience dealing with Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and the problems associated with it. I am a firm believer in a stepwise approach to gynaecological problems exhausting conservative measures before contemplating surgery.
I am an accredited urogynaecologist with British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG). I register all prolapse and incontinence surgery on the BSUG database and all cases are discussed at a multidisciplinary team meeting (MDT) to comply with current NICE guidance. I have performed more than 2,000 vaginal prolapse surgeries including, vaginal hysterectomy, pelvic floor repairs, sacrospinous fixation both in the NHS and privately. I perform urethral bulking and autologous fascial sling for stress incontinence.
I have led a very successful BSUG accredited Urogynaecology Unit for 9 years in a tertiary teaching hospital and set up the established combined pelvic floor clinic in Leeds initially with my colorectal colleague Professor David Jayne. This service has expanded enormously to see many complex cases not only throughout the region but from further afield.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Lynne Rogerson at Spire include:
Gynaecology

Outside of work, my main passion is travel and documenting my experiences photographically. I’ve been fortunate to have travelled the world extensively with family, friends and professionally. My current companions of choice are my 2 teenage sons and we have a long list of destinations still to explore. I also enjoy walking, cooking, trips to the cinema and theatre and dining out.
