I qualified in medicine in Leeds in 2000 and trained as a paediatric surgeon in Manchester and Liverpool.
I specialised in paediatric urology through an ESPU-recognised National Fellowship in paediatric urology in Leeds. My PhD in tissue engineering of the bladder attracted the best thesis award from the European Society for Paediatric Urology and the best paper by a young urologist award from the European Association of Urology.
I am a fellow of the European Academy of Paediatric Urologists and currently work at the Leeds Children’s Hospital as a consultant paediatric urologist and surgeon.
My interests include genital reconstruction for disorders of sexual differentiation including hypospadias, bladder and kidney surgery and minimally invasive techniques utilising the Da Vinci Robotic device. I perform a wide range of general paediatric surgical and urological procedures.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my children and watching their sporting activities! I enjoy motorsport and, originating from Manchester, following my home team of Manchester City. I am a keen walker, spending as much time as possible in the Lake District. I am a member of the Governing Body of Yarm School, Yarm, including Nursery, Early School and Preparatory School (also Director of the Company and Trustee of the Charity). As a recipient of the Rank Foundation Fellowship myself in the past, I am keen to encourage and advise the next generation of young people as they prepare for their working life.
